These are eight young volunteer surfers from the Ponta do Ouro communities who were recently trained by the National Public Rescue Service – Mozambique to support Maputo National Park rangers in rescue operations for people at risk of drowning.

This is a successful partnership between Maputo National Park, the local communities and the Lwandi Surf association, with support from the Peace Parks Foundation and MozBio Mozambique, joining forces to make Ponta do Ouro beach a safer environment for all visitors.
