Activists were given knowledge of modern methods of contraception, their performance and effectiveness including injectable contraceptives and were trained in family planning and good motherhood practices and nutrition. The 15 activists sensitize women and men at their households and are supported by nurses of the local health posts. The program engaged approximately 3 000 women and 1 400 men and provided first-time consultation to about 800 women. At the moment the program is assisting over 550 women, ensuring they receive proper family planning service.
