About the Club

Maputo National Park Friends Club (Friends of PNAM) is a programme run by Maputo National Park through which individual and institutional members develop synergies through their contributions to ecosystem conservation and community development. With the creation of the Friends Club, PNAM aims to become closer to nature lovers, particularly companies operating in the country, in order to jointly create employment opportunities, promote environmental education and mitigate human-wildlife conflict within and around the Park.

Objective

The Club’s objective is to create synergies between people, businesses and nature for ecosystem preservation, community development, and job creation.

Members or Friends of the Club

These are individuals and institutions with an interest in environmental conservation, ecosystem preservation, tourism, expanding networks, institutional visibility, social causes, green business, and/or carbon offsetting.

Champions

They are a group of people of recognised merit, who may include academics, activists, environmentalists, sportspeople, businesspeople, politicians or influential artists, who are reputable, credible and environmentally friendly, and whose image and experience add value to the actions of the PNAM.

Projects to be supported

The main pillars of projects to be supported are divided into three (3) categories: a) Eco-Jobs, b) Human-Wildlife Coexistence (CH-FB) and c) Educa+, with other projects or initiatives being added at the beginning of each year.

Although members can access the Club’s list of projects and needs, the funds they donate will not be allocated to any activity of their choice, except in cases where they are willing to negotiate other specific amounts and terms.
